Title: Procurement Lead - Commercial and Residential HVAC and Plumbing

Shift: Day Shift, standard business hours

Salary: $65,000 to $75,000 per year dependent on experience

Procurement Lead Role

This role is critical to the operational success of our client, a growing HVAC and plumbing company, by leading all purchasing activities. This person will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and cost-effective supply of all necessary equipment, parts, and materials for both commercial installation projects and residential service operations out of their Van Wert, OH location.

Procurement Lead Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of procurement for HVAC and plumbing equipment, fixtures, and supplies
• Negotiate vendor contracts, secure favorable rebates, and develop long-term supplier partnerships
• Oversee purchasing for both commercial installs, focusing on long-lead project planning, and residential service, managing quick-turn needs
• Source and purchase parts, consumables, and operational needs, including tools, uniforms, and fleet supplies
• Maintain accurate purchase orders, inventory tracking, and vendor records
• Monitor pricing trends, lead times, and availability to minimize costs and prevent project delays
• Coordinate material flow with field teams, project managers, and service dispatch to ensure on-time delivery
• Support overall budgeting and cost-control efforts through smart, strategic procurement practices

Procurement Lead Reporting Relationships

This position reports directly to a member of the senior leadership team and currently has no direct reports.

About You

• Possess a minimum of three years of experience in procurement or supply chain management
• Demonstrate a strong background and focus specifically within the HVAC and plumbing industries
• Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing fixtures, and related equipment
• Proven track record of successful vendor negotiation and effective cost management
• Display excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to balance high-level strategic planning with day-to-day tactical purchasing needs
• Proficiently utilize procurement and inventory management software
• Hold a valid driver's license
